Get Creative

One of the easiest places to begin adding creative elements in a worship service is with a digital projector.

Online Resources

Sally Morgenthaler's Sacramentis.com is a great place to start.Beyond offering downloads and DVD’s of
great background art and worship videos, she recommends some books and provides some articles that will prime your creative pump.

Sermonspice.com is a clearinghouse for short worship films. You can use them as sermon starters or place
them anywhere in the order of worship to add some creative “spice.”They sell them as singles, so if you need just one clip or don’t have the budget to buy in bulk; this is the place to go.

Vertical Sky productions and Worship Films produce some of the best short worship films on the market today. They offer package deals that make building a library more affordable.

Angel House Media produces several types of digital media, including “Interludes.”Interludes are 30-second clips that are perfect for transitions in the order of worship.

The North American Mission Board and the International Mission Board provide video clips to
help churches promote missions.

Do it Yourself

You can also produce your own clips.Instead of having a drama or testimony onstage, video tape them.If you don’t know how to do video editing, just grab the nearest teenager, they’ll be glad to help.

Recently, we began making music videos of our retreats, fellowships or other special events. We mix art with the photos and add an mp3 file to make the ministry report a multi-media experience.

Don’t stop with finding background art for your songs or video clips for your service, use photographs to support your sermon illustrations. You can find just about any photo by going to google.com and clicking on images and typing in a keyword.

If you decide to show excerpts from a commercial DVD, remember that you need a license to show it in
public. For more information, go to cvli.org.
